WHEN STARS AND UNICORNS COLLIDE Something magical happens

A writer’s journey of signs and synchronicity from the Universe.
The story behind Louise’s book, ‘Follow Your Star, it’s ok to be different’.

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A UNICORN. . .and another. . .and another!  It seemed these beautiful mythical creatures were seeking me out, joining forces, reminding me to step into action and finish my book.

I was in Bath for a weekend of reflexology, wellbeing, and chakra energy training at a well-used health centre.  There were such good vibes with our group as we attuned our focus to body balance and healing intentions (so I guess my awareness was prepped for unicorn magic) for this was the place where I encountered my first unicorn: a beautiful turquoise and white mural, looking ready to gallop off the wall and out into the street with joy.

My second and third encounters were on my way back to the hotel.  As I walked through the winding streets, I popped into Anthropologie, one of my favourite shops, where I was drawn to a pretty unicorn bowl beckoning: “Look at me.  Come on girl. Time to re-connect with unicorns!” (The theme of my book).  My third meeting that day was with a magnificent white unicorn, an impressive shop window sculpture made up from shells.  As I turned the corner, there it was. Unmissable!  Full of purpose-momentum.

Unicorns are mythical creatures, associated with spirituality, teaching and transformation. Three unicorns in one day! To me, this meant something, for sure.  I believe in such synchronicities: the signs and symbols from the Universe, drawing our attention to their guidance, when the time is right, are gifts.  I could have turned any street corner, but this was meant to be.

WHERE DID I GO FROM THERE?
To a story of soul-star craft work.

I believe we all have our own special star to guide and wish upon.  The stars play a dynamic role throughout Follow Your Star, it’s ok to be different. We are connected:  stardust from ancient times is in our DNA. We have a bit of their brilliance in ourselves. How wonderful is that!  My mother saw the magic in everyday life and inspired me to believe in the power of following my own special star – something I think we all can do, if we believe in ourselves.  I infused this approach into my unicorn story, expressed as a cosmic gift for my unlikely hero Hope.

Follow Your Star, it’s ok to be different reminds us to remember who we really are. Through the magic of a fairy tale, children are connected to the wonder of unicorns, for celebrating individuality, and inspiring their star of creative self-expression

The number 3 is traditionally considered sacred.  At the start of my writing journey I was shown three unicorns.  As if to endorse, after I’d written my book, I unexpectedly discovered my ancestral crest (about which I knew nothing previously) and wonder upon wonder, yes, it depicts three unicorns!  That defining family synchronicity had resonance; it was a special, affirming, moment for me. I interpreted this as ancestral support, not only for myself as author, but also for the ethos of my book :

WHISPERS FROM THE UNIVERSE.

My writer’s journey has been co-created with love and light to inspire celebration of difference.  A joyful, educational and magical experience from start to finish; I have had the pleasure of collaborating with a lovely artist Annie b., encouraged by my dear friend, Annette, and my cheer-leading family. Through its unicorn star of purpose, my creative journey was also blessed with insight and support from Spirit.  I am grateful for all of this.

“There’s no comparison between the sun and moon. They shine when it’s their time”

In my allegorical fairy adventure, the stars and unicorns exuberantly collide.   In an age of social media pressures, where imagery comparisons and judgements for young people proliferate, I believe every child deserves to know their worth. I’d love children to be inspired by my book to channel their inner unicorn and connect with their own star of self-esteem and purpose – because that’s when personal magic happens.
